Family Gathering Newcastle

This weekend we had a large family gathering in Newcastle…. a 21st birthday party… couldn’t resist snapping the sun as it set over Newcastle Harbour

and here is my son David with 2 of his children. He is just back from having walked the Kokoda trail in 6 days! Next time I will have to go with him:

And my wife Rosie with our youngest Grandson Joshuah

A good time was had by all…. I even managed a dip at Nobby’s Beach….

    Hi Michael

Thank you for sharing your great family shots with us – your wife, son and grandchildren – you make us feel like part of your extended family.

Interested to learn of your son’s Kokoda six day trek! He looks fit! Did he say it was difficult? It has that reputation! I have flown over it in a two day helicopter trip back in the ’70’s stopping at tiny airports (on hillsides, etc., some being built with sticks by hand) – great country – and I loved it. A photographer’s paradise awaits . . .

    Regards, Tani

Note: This is the third attempt to POST COMMENT here in the last two days – it just wipes the ‘slate’ clean. So now I will copy it for safety reasons.

PS: Helicopter is the only way to fly! Bye!

Thanks for your response Tania- your comment(s) have come through loud and clear… my son had to train for 6 months prior to this… he will now need to keep this up… and has been dragging me off for a weekly bushwalk. Thank goodness!
