Kate Mulvaney played a fabulous, demonic Lady Macbeth for our 3rd year students yesterday. She brought an electrifying, negative force onto the stage and demonstrates that Shakespeare’s women are sometimes far from the meek downtrodden characters that we have seen in Henry IV Parts 1 & 2, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Troilus and Cressida. Or maybe you don’t agree that the women in these other plays can be lumped together in this fashion? At all events this was a great production. Kate mulvaey was a brilliant actor; she conveyed power and evil,sadness aand despair,she showed Macbeth his real manliness to do the murderous deed. Her face contorted with her descent to madness toward the end also she was the catalyst behind Macbeth ascendung to power. I really aprreciated this modern image and i also felt the pain of all that death\murder which would not ordinarily be displayed on television. Sahra
