Made it this morning to the best spot overlooking the Hawkesbury Sandstone Plateau- just before dawn:
Lot’s of autumnal wildflowers out, most spectacular this Banksia Collina, abundant all along the ridge tops: And the moist autumnal weather brings out a profusion of spider webs:
Near the end of the walk ( around a 12 Km circuit) there is this fantastic Angophora- one of the biggest in the whole area:
And home before 10am! one of the sweetest ways to spend the early hours of Sunday morning!
Wonderful. Wish my legs still allowed me to do that I got up, had breakfast, and went back to bed for an hour or two. I did spend this windy afternoon huddling with friends under a picnic shelter on the banks of the Cooks River in Tempe. Great day for a barby, and Sam was able to join me when he finished work.
I can see from all your blogs you are a man very much after my own heart Dave- nature is king!
